OPPORTUNITY: CONVEYOR SALES ENGINEER

LOCATION: Flexible
INDUSTRY: Conveyor, Robotics and Material Handling

Stac is seeking an experienced Conveyor Sales Engineer to drive sales and technical development of conveyor system projects in manufacturing and distribution environments. This role combines deep conveyor applications expertise with proposal development, technical design, customer relationship management, and post-sale project support.

As a Conveyor Sales Engineer, you will work closely with customers from concept through proposal, design, and integration phases — playing a key role in discovering opportunities, developing solutions, and ensuring successful project outcomes. You will collaborate with internal engineering, controls, and project management teams to deliver complete material handling solutions that exceed customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide conveyor application expertise and lead the development of accurate project estimates and technical proposals.

  • Analyze customers’ technical specifications, process flows, and facility challenges to design optimal conveyor and material handling solutions.

  • Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other design/simulation software to create layouts and system concepts.

  • Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations to prospective clients.

  • Collaborate with the internal engineering and controls teams to generate pricing, quotes, and detailed project scopes.

  • Manage conveyor projects post-sale, including coordination with installation, controls, and project management teams.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and manage all sales activities through the CRM.

  • Apply knowledge of mechanical/electrical installation, controls, and inter-machine operability to ensure integrated solutions.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovative material handling solutions.

  • Support project handoff and execution to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Domestic travel required (estimated 40–50%) for customer visits, site assessments, and presentations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of conveyor applications experience in material handling or industrial automation.

  • Proven background in Conveyor Applications Engineering, Estimating, and Project Management.

  • Strong working knowledge of powered conveyor systems, mechanical and electrical installations, and controls integration.

  • Experience with AutoCAD (required); familiarity with SolidWorks or other design/simulation software is a plus.

  • Robust understanding of process flow, process automation, and process improvement within manufacturing and distribution supply chains.

  • Effective presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to clients.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions from concept to creation.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in both technical sales and project execution of conveyor systems.

  • Exposure to robotics, AMRs, AS/RS, or broader warehouse automation projects.

  • Background in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or controls engineering.

  • Experience with proposal development and CRM tools.

OPPORTUNITY: Project Manager

Stac is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of full turnkey conveyor system projects from concept through installation and commissioning. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards while exceeding customer expectations. You will work closely with Sales Engineers, Controls Engineers, Installation teams, and customers to drive complex material handling projects in manufacturing and distribution environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead full lifecycle project management of turnkey conveyor systems and integrated material handling solutions, including design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk management strategies.

  • Track and manage ship dates, lead times, engineering deliverables, and installation milestones.

  • Coordinate internal resources (engineering, controls, mechanical/electrical installation, and fabrication) and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Collect, organize, and manage all project documentation, including submittals, change orders, RFIs, and as built drawings.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project, providing regular status updates and managing expectations.

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of standard work, project management processes, and internal tools.

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Application Engineering teams during the proposal phase to ensure accurate scoping, estimating, and technical feasibility.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to integrate cutting-edge tools and technologies (including AI applications) to improve project efficiency and outcomes.

  • Manage project financials, including cost control, forecasting, and profitability.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of progressive Project Management experience in the material handling industry, with a strong focus on conveyor systems or industrial automation projects.

  • Proven track record successfully delivering complex, multi-million dollar turnkey conveyor and material handling integration projects.

  • Strong understanding of conveyor applications, mechanical systems, electrical installations, controls, and system integration.

  • Experience with project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and project management methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and familiarity with SolidWorks or other design/simulation software.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external vendors/subcontractors.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process flow documentation.

  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed (estimated 20–40%) for project kickoffs, site visits, and installations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials.

  • Background in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or controls engineering.

  • Prior experience in both project management and conveyor applications/estimating.
